Throughout the season we may have Captain’s practices. This could occur on a half-day or on days in which I cannot make it to practice. I expect for these practices to produce just as much progress as any other. This means the team will have to work as a whole, respecting the agenda that I give the Captains.
St. Croix Falls Dance Contract
I expect you…
…to feel ownership of this team, meaning that I value your input, ideas, suggestions, etc. If you have any input, please don’t hesitate to bring it up at the appropriate times. However, as the coach I will make all final decisions as necessary. Please be willing to give and get constructive criticism with other team members.
…to respect yourself and this team. This means that your words and actions should not be negative towards yourself or others (including other students in school). As a dancer, you represent not only our team and high school, but you also represent me as a coach. You will be held accountable for your actions as a member of the team, and will be expected to always respect yourself and others through your actions and in your communication (including electronic communication).
…to be present, both physically and mentally. This means being on time to practice, ready to dance. Leave any drama in the locker room.
…to be honest. I appreciate honesty in every situation, and it is to be held in high importance on this team. If you have any problems, I expect you to talk to me at the appropriate time. If you have an issue with other dancers, a meeting can be set up to talk it through (dance practice is not an appropriate time for this).
…to have fun and create amazing memories. I hope that you make the best out of this great opportunity. You are a great bunch of ladies that are going to have some incredible, and probably hilarious, times together! I am honored to be a part of this journey and team.
You can expect me (Jasmine)…
…to listen to you. Like I said before, I value your input and thoughts when they are presented to me in a respectful and considerate way.
…to NEVER swear at you. Ever. Enough said.
…to not engage in gossiping with you, either about other teammates or students in school. It is unhealthy for everyone involved and never amounts to positive action.
…to expect the absolute best from both myself and from you. High expectations lead to amazing achievement and effort. I believe each of you ladies has high potential on this team!
…to know and understand the gravity of my position as your coach. I will always represent this team in the highest way possible, with my own behavior and choices.
…to joke around, a lot, but also know when hard work is needed. Laughter is an important aspect of this team. I will maintain an appropriate balance between the two and expect the same from you.
No cell phones are allowed at practice unless given permission by Jasmine. Jewelry that could be damaged or distract the performance of the routine must be taken off. Please do not bring food or gum to practices.
Jasmine has the right to remove any dancer from participating in a performance at any time. It is important
*If you plan on missing a practice (or leaving a practice early), please let me know in person or call me at least 24 hours in advance. In the case of a sick day or emergency, give as much notice as possible. (No texts please)
*For every day that you miss, you have 1 day to make it up (For example: Missing 2 days of Choreography = 2 days until you are expected to be caught up)
* 3 absences from practice will result in not performing that dance (unless given the OK by Jasmine).
*Please have work-out or dance appropriate apparel on for every practice. As a Dance Member, we want to represent out team and school in the best way possible, not only at performances but practices as well.
*Tanks with at least ½ inch straps are acceptable, however, no spaghetti-strapped tanks are allowed. Shorts can either reach the end of your fingertips, or have a 3 inch inseam.
*Shoes must always be worn, unless given permission by Jasmine. Many tricks and leaps could injure your ankles without proper support.
*As a coach, presenting our team well is important. Although I will not be “checking”, I expect the entire team to enforce a good mixture of modest and dance-ready apparel.
Modest is hottest!! ;)
My signature indicates that I have read and understood the aforementioned expectations and will uphold and meet them to the best of my ability.
