HISTORIC AND HALLOWED HALLS OF GRAND CENTRAL HARKEN ALL TO HALLOWEEKEND
Main Event on Sunday, October 29th Will Feature( 1,500 lb.) World’s Largest Pumpkin, Family Pop Group Laughing Pizza, Costumes, Pumpkin Patch, Candy, Spooky Creatures, and More for New Yorkers of All Ages
Grand Central is Halloween Central on Sunday, October 29th from 2 to 6 pm when the main event for “HalloWeekend” - the first annual family friendly Halloween event debuts in one of the city’s most beloved landmarks. (42nd Street at Lexington Ave.)
Children under 14 (costumes recommended but not required) accompanied by a parent, can walk throughout the Terminal and gather treats at five different Trick or Treat stations stocked with sweets sponsored by Hershey’s chocolate. They can also frolic in Vanderbilt Hall’s Pumpkin Patch piled high with pumpkins and watch carving demonstrations by local artists, then purchase a pumpkin and help the Food Bank of New York City which will receive all proceeds from the pumpkin sales. The World’s Largest Pumpkin – 1,500 lbs, grown in Rhode Island, will also be on exhibit in the Pumpkin Patch
The fun continues with world renowned artist Ralph Lee leading a procession through the Hall with ‘kids’ of all ages invited to participate. Hazmat Modie - a New York band that plays Blues, Reggae, Klezmer and Country music and Laughing Pizza, a family trio with mom, dad and 10 year old daughter, will be performing for all at Halloweekenders in Vanderbilt Hall.
HalloWeekend kicks-off on Saturday, October 28th with Halloween merchandise specials going on in many Grand Central stores. Zaro’s and Junior’s will be among the food vendors featuring special Halloween desserts and the Grand Central Market will offer seasonal dishes and fall recipes.
